A Day Made Better
With the goal to help eliminate "teacher-funded" classrooms, OfficeMax launched the most ambitious community outreach initiative in the company’s history: A Day Made Better. This nationwide event, in which OfficeMax associates surprised 1,000 teachers at 1,000 schools with in-class ceremonies and donated school supplies, benefited all those involved.
A Day Made Better was designed to underscore OfficeMax’s refined community outreach focus on helping educators at K-12 schools, who spend an average of $1,200 per year of their own money on basic school supplies. The recognition the event received should benefit not only the direct recipients – the teachers and schools who may already be our customers – but anyone who has a stake in a well-educated America.
OfficeMax benefited by the recognition as well, with an estimated 40 million people having been exposed to positive media coverage of the event.
