Associate Development and Performance

Over the past several years, OfficeMax has placed a renewed emphasis on ensuring that associates get the feedback and training they need to advance their careers within our company. From the broader rollout of a new Performance Management System to enhanced training and education, the foundations are set to develop talent from within our company.

Existing OfficeMax associates are provided consideration for open positions within the company ahead of external candidates. If the internal pool of candidates becomes exhausted and a position remains unfilled, the company will seek candidates external to the company, with highest preference given to local candidates. Senior vice presidents and above must be approved by the board of directors, while vice presidents must be appointed by the CEO.
