Code of Business Conduct and Ethics

The OfficeMax Code of Business Conduct and Ethics details specific protections and expectations for all of our associates, lending detail, substance and “teeth” to our Core Values. Associates are expected to strive for full compliance not only with the letter of the rules, but with the spirit as well.

The Code prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind. Not only are such activities illegal, but they are in direct conflict with our Core Values.

All associates have an affirmative responsibility to report any issue or practice that involves a potential violation of a federal, state, local or foreign law, or of any provision of the Code. An anonymous toll-free tip line and a dedicated e-mail address are provided to help associates fulfill this responsibility. The Code explicitly forbids retaliation directed at associates who file reports or complaints.

The Code also serves as the mechanism by which all associates are held accountable for their professional behavior, enforceable through associate discipline, up to and including termination of employment.
