Safety and Health Metrics

With our renewed emphasis on associate safety and health, we are confident that our performance will continue to improve. In 2007, we identified ways to improve incident reporting and tracking and developed the “Safety Severity Index,” a new metric to be introduced in 2008, that takes into account the number of recordable, lost time, and restricted duty/job transfer cases, as well as the number of lost workdays.
